Es zupft mit kurzen, vertikalen Kopfbewegungen nur den obersten Teil der Pflanze ab und rei\u00dft sie nicht, wie andere Rassen, mitsamt der Wurzel aus. Jahrhundert gro\u00dfe Schafherden, die das karge Gras- und Heideland als Weiden nutzen konnten. Nachdem die Bl\u00fctezeit der Tuchindustrie vorbei war und im 19.
